Re: SIMRAD RPU80 bleeding

Is there adequate fluid in the reservoir?
Have you tried opening the bleed/vent screws at the steering cylinder?

Manually steering is functioning properly.
But not the avtopilot.

Sounds like you may have some stuck ball check valves. Suggest following the troubleshooting guide in the installation manual. You can find it on line if you don't have one.

Re: SIMRAD RPU80 bleeding

In attached image:
Green arrow is where bolt spring and metal ball has to be.
The yellow color is the depth of the holl. So as it is now on image there is no pressure on the spring.
My question is how much should bolt be inside the holl to have the right pressure on the boll?

I am not sure how deep the bolt was before I took it apart. Now the pump is working but the oil is leaking out. So I have to put locktite on it. That's mean that it will not move any more and that the tension has to be right.

Maybe I am complicating to much.
My intention is to tait the bolt to be hidden in the holl for half of the dimension of the bolt. What do you suggest?

Re: SIMRAD RPU80 bleeding

The instructions in the RPU 80 manual state "screw the grub screw in until it is flush with the surface of the valve body. This will insure that the spring pressure on the ball is correct".

That said, I have an RPU 80 that has the screw about 2.5 mm below the surface...
