Maybe it would work to Google on Custom Propellors.

If you let people know what part of the world you're in, or want to receive the prop in, maybe somebody there can be of help.

2.8;;1 ratio ?
You probably wont be able to swing a big enough prop on an inch shaft..you would need around 20''x10 probably stall when going fwd to reverse

Sorry just saw 1''1/4 shaft

Contact General Propeller (800 282 3181). They are in Bradenton in FL and are good to work with.
They will want to know the waterline length of your boat and also what diameter propeller you can accommodate.

You don't need a custom made propeller. Just order the size you need.

Re: Seeking custom propeller for 34ft sailboat

Maybe you've already considered this option, but is Max-Prop a possibility for you -- PYI Inc. Max-Prop PSS Shaft Seal Seaview Radar Mounts R&D --
They have sizes compatible with your shaft, & on par diameter wise with what's mentioned earlier in this thread. Although I can't speak to whether or not their pitch settings will reach into the range which you may need. The up side, however, is that they have models which needn't be disassembled in order for you to change the pitch.
Which, if your pitch requirement's uncertain, then the adjustability could prove to be a boon.

If you don't have time to shop around a lot. P-yacht.com (link below) typically has competitive prices with other marine retailers on sailing hardware & accessories (and may even be better. They used to be it's just that I haven't shopped there in a while & thus can't state such definitively). Max Prop

Also, it might be burning up a bit of air time & giving Minney's Yacht Surplus a call. Typically they have pre-loved props in there by the crate full (literally).
www.minneysyachtsurplus.com PHONE: (949) 548-4192 They're in Costa Mesa, CA... so W.Coast time zone

Good luck!

Check out KiwiProps. Saw them at the Annapolis show. Very innovative.

Re: Seeking custom propeller for 34ft sailboat

Tapers - charts and how to measure If ur shaft is really metric 30mm,it probably has a metric taper, which is different from std North American SAE taper.Props are not interchangeable.
Ask me how I know.
I'm still looking for a 17LH14 3 blade 25mm metric taper for a spare.
Cheap,of course. / Len

Re: Seeking custom propeller for 34ft sailboat

I agree that you probably don't need a custom prop but you may need to get either the the shaft taper altered or a custom bore for the prop. The other thing I noticed is your power ratio which at 5hp/ton is high. A three blade fixed prop would handle the power and give very good performance in heavy weather if you want to drive into a gale (useful for offshore!) but will give lots of drag depending on keel configuration. If doing this I would seriously look at fitting a prop-shaft generator which would easily give 6-10A. If you have a fin & skeg keel or a P bracket drag will certainly be an issue But getting that sort of power through a folding prop may be a problem.
Would recommend talking to a good drive engineer about this
