Replacement Prop

Looking for your advice on stainless/nibral blades re marine growth. I only have 12" & it takes little fouling to need having to clean the blades on present 2 bladed folding props. I operate in "warm" water.

So please committee help me!!

My LIMITED experience with stainless blades in Qld. would suggest that stainless is no different to a polished bronze prop wrt to fouling.

Rub your prop down with STP oil treatment. Let it dry some and coat it again. Works better than prop anti-fouling paint in my experience and it's a whole lot cheaper!

Stainless stops being stainless once you scratch it when cleaning the prop ;-) I would be lead to think that bronze, containing some copper will have some anti-foul properties by itself. Steel not.

Well it is time to do something with the boat on the hard! Propspeed seems to be in general use on the larger props but I am unable to find anyone with advise on small props which would be turning faster.

propspeed should still work for you.
There used to be a guy in Perth who had cooked up a chemical coating system for props (growth is terrible in the Sawn River), worked well but must have been pretty toxic because you had to handle it with heavy gloves
