Removing Hurth Box

Hi I am trying to get my hurth150 out and have problems getting the two bolts at the base of the adapter plate off. Anybody have any tips. The boat is in the water on anchor (big two). Thanks

I had to cut a wrench in half in order to be able to get it in the right place to pull one! You may have to fab a tool?

I've had the same issue once before. Let us know how it goes.
Good luck!

Re: Removing Hurth Box

HI SKIPPERARIS. WELL COULDNT GET THEM BOLTS OUT SO TOOK THE GRINDER TO THE NUTS HOLDING FLANGE TO ADAPTER PLATE. OUT CAME THE GEARBOX AND A 13MM SOCKET HAMMERED ON TO THE STUBBORN BOLTS REMOVED THEM. HAVE THE GEARBOX APART AND PARTIALLY STRIPPED DOWN BUT HAVING PROBLEM REMOVING SECTION AFT OF THE SELECTOR PLATE. BEARINGS ABIT SHOT AND PLASTIC CASED ROLLER BEARING DOESNT LOOK GOOD. TRY TOMORROW TO GET INFO AND BEARINGS. ANY ADVICE WILL BE WELCOMED. CHEERS FROM THAILAND --ROB
