Prop shaft and taper details for a Jeanneau 43ds
I would like to change my prop to feathering/folding but am not quite sure of the shaft diameter and taper details. I think the diameter is 1 3/8" (38mm) but am i wrong? Is it 35mm? It also appears that the taper characteristics are often according to the ISO35 standard but does that apply to ALL Jeanneau boats of this size?
Anybody got any ideas?

1 3/8" is very close to 35mm, not 38. But they are not the interchangable. For what it is worth, I have worked on several Jeanneau's and they all had metric shafts.
But I wouldn't spend any of my money based on anything EXCEPT putting a caliper on the shaft of my boat.
But you might trust the internet more than I do...

Hi Andrew, all the Jeanneau have metric standard shafts, so it is either a 30 mm or a 35 mm standard ISO 1:10 taper.
In the past we have supplied the Sun Odyssey 43 some few times, it was ISO 35 (or sail-drive)

All metric shafts are sized in increments of 5mm. 20mm, 25mm, 30mm, 35mm etc. You get the picture. There are no metric shafts that are 38mm or whatever.

Yes, I think my shaft is 35mm but I was confused by the fact that I hv been buying shaft anodes for 38mm. Maybe Bill is right. I need to get a caliper on my shaft to see what it really is.
Many thanks guys for your comments and advice

I guarantee you have never bought a 38mm shaft anode. They do not exist.

Absurdly correct. I checked some of my docs. Definitely I hv 35 mm diameter shaft. Is the taper ISO 35 or 1:10? Or are these the same thing?

Same thing, the ISO35 is a 1:10 tapered end
