Need recommendation for a prop puller?

Any recommendations for a good, relatively inexpensive prop puller? I have a conventional 3 blade fixed Michigan prop (14").

The problem is that you can only recoup your money if you rent it out

or justify the cost vs yard cost

I have used a regular, 3 prong "automobile type" puller, available quite cheap at discount parts stores. You may need to use some kind of ratheting straps, warpped around the whole exterior, to keep the prongs from slipping off the prop hub.

I built one cheaply years ago that I still carry. 2 flat pieces of steel, one notched out to fit the shaft behind the prop. Both pieces with 3 holes on each of the triangular ends. Three threaded rods with nuts on each end. Rinse with fresh water and spray with wd40 after use.

Yes. I own one, the 2N model for 3 or 4 blades, up to a 2" shaft. They are very strong pullers but are waaay more than you need (even the baby one pictured above) to get your little 14" prop off. On top of that, the Walter pullers are more difficult to use. Maybe not a big deal in the yard, but definitely a consideration where I use them, underwater. Not sure what the price difference is and maybe that's the deciding factor. But if you want my opinion, the Pro Pull is the most versatile, easy-to-use puller available.
