Max-Power CT125 bow thruster problem

I have a Max Power CT125 bow thruster on my Jeanneau 53.

It's running perfectly to port side but it has kind of developed it's on life to starboard side.

It runs for a second then stop and then speed up again etc.

Any good suggestions what to look for?

/Steen

First thing to check when a DC electric motor runs erratically, especially in one direction over the other, is the brushes.

If taking the motor apart is not in your skill set, taking it to a electric motor rebuild shop is probably a good idea.

A close second is to check the direction relay contactors. Contacts can burn or corrode and then work poorly. It's usually mounted right on the motor.
