Hi,
The
transmission on my 32-foot
steel sailboat needs to be rebuilt or replaced. Any help would be much appreciated.
The
transmission is probably a Borg Warner - the plate says "BW tip 6" built by Industrias Subsidiarias de Aviacon (ISDA) Seville,
Spain.
forward 2.0 backwards 1.76 (see attached photo).
If the transmission needs to be replaced, how can I be sure a Velvet Drive 71C In-line (for example) would be correct? For example, if the reduction cannot be exactly matched to the old transmission, how much can I go up or down?
Right now I'm in northern
Newfoundland.
thanks for any help.
