Boyens props

I found two feathering props in my bilge when I bought the boat. Imagine is running yanmar gm30 motors, saildrive20, and 2 bladed fixed props. Both props are marked left hand drive. The Boyens props are left & right

RH 0/119 17X15
LH 0/118 17X15

They appear to have the same stops left, and right. I am confused if these are for motors that rotate in opposite directions, or not? As you can see when the props are turned left they look equal, and the same for when they turned right. Also from the side they look equal also?

Also any idea on value. I looked on the internet, and found a German speaking site on Boyens. I tranfered it to English, but to me they were speaking French.....LOLOLOLOL

Re: Boyens props

Obviousely a very old thread but I am curious if You still are in posession of these propellers?

I have a very similar propeller on my vessel (Finnrose 37 built 1967). My propeller was purchased in the mid 1990:s but I am sure it had had a significant "shelf time" by then. It is likely from the 1980:s.

I have concluded it is a BBM, manufactured in Kungsor, Sweden, by a company BBM (Boat Building Material) which later sold the rights to the propeller design to Peter Boyens in Netherlands.

The propeller You have may be original BBM:s. There is no trace of manufacturer name or model on my prop but it is approximately 17 inch in diameter. It has been working well since mounted on my boat. The only difficulty whith it is the difficulty in finding anodes.
