2005Volvo Penta Saildrive 130S A question

My new boat has saildrives which I have no experience with. I noticed their is a knob next to the Gearbox, on a shaft that goes into the boot to the saildrive. Is this some kind of adjustment to keep seawater out of the drive seals? A pressure adustment? I cannot find any writeups or info online.
Any info on saildrives would help.

That is probably the seacock to turn off the raw water inlet for engine cooling? There may be a hose attached right next to it that runs to the water pump">raw water pump.

No the seacock is located on the other side, this is a knob that turns a rod in a tube that goes into the saildrive thru the boot

I just finally figured it out. I found a drawning online. The knob I spoke of is a cap to a small pipe to suck the oil out of the bottom of the saildrive. I bought my boat in Martinique and all my info and manuals are in French so it has been a long translation process for systems on the boat. Many have no English manuals available. I am currently in the San Blas Islands

Its just a tube that goes to the sump to remove the oil.
