Two Thumbs Up for NauticEd

When someone offers a good product, at a good price, and gives good service I like to give credit where credit is due, and I think NauticEd deserves a big thumbs up.

Lance and I have been taking some online classes over the winter through a several sources and NauticEd has been far and away the best experience. They offer 2 free courses to start you out (excellent) and their prices for all courses offered are very reasonable compared to others we took. Lance and I have both been impressed with the content of the courses so far.

They offer an online log book so you can track all your on the water hours for whatever certifications you are working toward, and you can get your ICC (International Certificate of Competence) through them by taking the theory courses online and then going to any one of 500 centers which have been approved by the RYA to take the on the water check out. (We are lucky enough to have a center near us in Annapolis, MD)

But the part that impressed me the most was the personal responses I got from Grant Headifen to a couple of email inquiries I had sent. He responded personally, within a day, and with very detailed suggestions and solutions to my concerns. He also took a suggestion I made and is talking to his programmers about implementing it. That's personal service. One of the other organizations (national and widely recognized) I tried to contact twice over the past month has yet to respond.

to Grant and NauticEd.
