Practicing

We've taken some intensive sailing lessons over the past two years but because of Tom's schedule we are having a hard time getting in sailing time to practice. We learned, mostly, catamarans but I've recently thought that if we buy a small monohull we'd get more time to practice. Tom's not thrilled with spending the money on a boat until we get the one we'll keep. I'd like some other opinons.

pirate Why throw money away...?

Sensible man... instead why not buy something like this that can complement your 'Cat' when you finally get it and can give you fun short notice daysailing in the meantime

There is a 19" sail boat here for $1000. It needs a rudder though.

Thank you James. I've actually been around for a while now. I found the answer to my problem, without having to buy a boat.

This past weekend I was able to crew in a race.

thats a great way to learn. OPBs (other people boats) are a great way to hone your skills. The best thing is that you get to sail on a variety of boats which helps you learn what your prefered boat will be in the future.

Cheers

trick to crewing is show early, show when you say you were going too, and stay after to help put boat away. You will have Capt.s fighting over you soon. Most Capts are willing to teach the sailing stuff but can't teach you the other stuff
