Need some help with the RYA Day Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory Course

I'm working on the RYA Day Skipper/Yachtmaster course by correspondence, and while I have no problem with most of the material, there are a few problems where I sometimes get the right answer and at other times I don't. I am looking for someone who can walk me through some of the problems via Skype or email, as that what is teachers are for

If you are interested, please leave me a message and let me know your hourly rate.

Need some help with the RYA Day Skipper/Yachtmaster Theory Course

I can do that I am a former RYA cruising instructor and have taught the shore based course. I have also provided out of hours support for students.

I charge per hour . But usually I would prefer to understand what you need To cover, an hour of active tuition is quite a lot in this regard

I can do Skype and email etc.

I've done things like "remedial" chart work , tides etc which is where some students get bogged down

Perhaps its only a question of answering a few issues for you. You could easily put them up on CF for answer. Several RYA people here

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, oceanrow.

If you'll post some of your "problems" , I'm certain you'll get helpful replies for free.

It seems to me that your first port of call for further information / help is to the organisation running the correspondence course.
After that then you may still wish to make enquiries of others.

if you're talking about multiple answer questions the best way to take them is to read the questions and answers first. don't even try and guess the correct answer. Do small sections at a time. And go over the ones you got wrong until fully memorized.

The hardest part about calculating secondary ports is the secret handshake...

There are excellent books out there as well, but nothing beats doing this stuff on your own boat before you get tested.
