How Easy Is it to Find a Skipper?

My wife, 1 year old daughter and I are about to embark on an adventure of a lifetime in April next year. Being new to the sailing fraternity I am currently doing a day skipper course in Durban SA to give me some theory on sailing. We intend to sail from Nassau to Antigua but would need a skipper with experience. Being on a tight budget how easy is it to find someone willing to help us? Any suggestions support or advise on route or passage would be greatly appreciated

Welcome to the forum...wow what an exciting time!
I'm sure you'll get some great tips around here on how to find a skipper for a reasonable deal.

Crewseekers

Congratulations on your adventure!

My partner and I are also in the final stages of buying a boat and are going to sail the Caribbean. Departing next Monday!

Having very limited sailing experience we too need a captain and found
a website called crewseekers online.

We listed on the short notice board and in exchange for flights and expenses, we have now found ourselves a very experienced skipper for 2 months!

It doesn't cost anything to list and the responses have mostly been great!

Best of luck on your journey!
