ASA or U S sailing certification

My first post.
I have both certifications available in my area with two different schools. The ASA 101,102 are 2 days each, the US Sailing is a 3 day course for basic keel boat 1, and 3 days for Keel boat 2 course.
My goal is to learn how to sail, crawl first then walk with possibility of getting my own boat. I'm not sure if one is better then the other,or advantages of one over the other.
thanks in advance

Re: ASA or U S sailing certification

I teach ASA 101 and 103, among others. At my school they are each 3 day courses. I think two days is a little short for students to learn what they are supposed to learn. My two cents...

Re: ASA or U S sailing certification

Around here, the US Sailing schools have better options for the cruising courses. The ASA schools go to the nearest destination, which is actually the same city, you only go off shore a couple of miles. The US Sailing schools go offshore to a destination that is usually beating upwind or sometimes even further afield.
