Yamaha Warranty Issue

Hi,

I bought an outboard and a Yam275s tender at the Dusseldorf boat show two weeks ago. Both were delivered to me in today in the Netherlands from a dealer in Germany.

The user manual says that the 2 year warranty is increased to 4 years on the condition that the warranty card is sent to Yamaha within 10 days of purchase.

The problem is there is no warranty card with my delivery. I called Yamaha and they said I need to speak to the dealer about this.

The dealer says it is only a 2 year warranty and has no idea what I am talking about regarding a 4 year warranty. (If only the dealer would read the user manual). The dealer says my invoice is my warranty document.

The user manual says "The Warranty Registration Card is the only valid registration identification. Warranty claims will not be accepted without presentation of the Warranty Registration Card."

I am left not knowing who to turn to, to sort this out.

Anyone in Europe have any info on this?

Does Yamaha not offer a way to register your warranty online?


Many do, since it saves them transcribing info from paper card to their database system...

Hi, no they do not offer this in Holland or Germany.
