Window Leak / Mold Problem

I have a 1991 thompson and the portside window which is about 4 feet in length leaks. One sailor told me to seal where the dried out rubber is and this should fix it. There seems to be two potential sources of leak the outer rim seal and the other seal as mentioned. How do I tell which one? What is the best way to get this problem fixed in the jersey city region of new jersey. Are there some exports.

Also with the water leak there is some mold on the fabric of the wall. Any ideas on how to best get rid of it.

I pulled one of my ports to replace the lexan. I took the port to a car windshield replacement glass company. He plled the seal and the lexan popped out. I then went to another window installation company the replace the seal. The salesman pulled out two huge books containing different types of window seals/ gaskets. I do not know the correct term. My luck being what it is, he could not find a match and I had to use the old stuff. None of the ports leak. The port that did leak initially, was not placed properly when he reinstalled the port. I hope this helps.

We have a long skinny window in our Master Stateroom that started leaking and we caulked and siliconed around it and it still comtined leaking. A friend suggested Captn Trolley's Creeping Crack Cure( I think thats the correct name). You squeeze a bit in and it creeps to wherevr the leak is and seals it, supposed to do that a couple of times I think. We, or I should say my hubby used it all along the bottom slide area and especially in the corner of the window and it stopped the leak! It even dried up the inside are on our teak where you could see the wet spot. Now you have to close to the wall to tell that there was ever a porblem! We are testing it in the screw holes of 2 opening port holes in our dinette as well. Haven't removed the outside plastic covering to prevent rain from getting in yet, but will this week to insert from the outside as well. We are sold on this stuff. As far as the fabric mold, I have no idea, coming from the backside may be a harder problem to fix. Good luck
