Where to store Boat during Summer

Brought a 47' MY down the east coast and am looking for a place to keep it from April till Nov. Don't really want to bring it back N with the fuel consumption and we'll be back down in late fall. Was wondering if there are good places to have it pulled out on the hard or just keep it in the water?

Koz, check with your insurance company first regarding hurricane season. They may require the yacht be stored north of the FL/GA line or some other demarcation.

If you decide to keep her in the water, I would suggest you look at Brunswick Landing Marina. It's not perfect, but it gets you out of Florida, is a pretty good hurricane hole, it is full of cruisers (sail & power), and the people are great.

Re: Where to store Boat during Summer

KOZ,
OutofControl comment is a valid one. We keep our boat in Charleston, SC but our insurance, Pantaenius, as most insurances do I suspect, will not cover our boat between July 15 and November 1st if it is south of 30.5 deg. which is a few miles north of Jacksonville, Fl. Also check wherever you decide to keep your boat but most marinas will require that you move your boat out in case a hurricane is forecasted to land or pass nearby.

I do the same thing with mine and have stored it at River Forest Yacht center in Stuart and they also have one on the other side of Lake Okeechobee in Labelle. both are recommended by my insurance company as hurricane proof.
