Try Again - 1987 42' Jefferson Convertible

Sorry about my breach of etiquette on my last try, but can anyone tell me anything about this boat. I can't seem to find much on line regarding handling, construction, good and bad points, etc. about it. Parker and Mcknew, Pascoe, and Jack Horner are all silent on it with their boat reviews. For example, is there a Jefferson forum? Is there any coreing in the construction? Do they have leaking windows? Why would there be ballast of 750 lbs. in a Jefferson? Does the bottom blister? Do they pound?
Rock? Roll? Wallow in a following sea? Can you pilot form the lower helm? Thanks

Re: Try again 1987 42 foot Jefferson Convertible

FP. The jeffersons are heavy typical Tiwan built, and slow for a convertible. they are very accomodating interiors with lots of teak. They are not bad boats but they are not Grand banks, or Defever quality.

Do you think a pair of 310 Cummins will get it on plane and cruise about 16-18 knots loaded for fishing with 6 people? Thanks for the reply.

Re: Try Again - 1987 42' Jefferson Convertible

To save a 12 hour drive and cost of sea trial I was hopeful that someone out there has a 42 and could give me some insight regarding their performance. Any suggestions as to other places to look since this forum doesn't seem to have any owners. Thanks
