Interesting array of numbers but you should take them all with a grain of
salt (water). There are so many variables involved in fuel
consumption that those numbers should not be relied on completely if you are planning a
cruise. Cruising speed,
weather,
water conditions, condition of the
hull bottom, boat weight and loading,
engine tune,
propeller diameter,
pitch and condition, tides,
wind, and
current are all factors. My heavy 28' with twin
Marine Power EFI gas V-drives probably gets 1.15 mpg at
cruise on a good day which is about what my colleagues with similar hulls and
power report.
Best thing to remember is the
rule of thirds for fuel
consumption, 1/3 out and back and always keep 1/3 in reserve
