Pacific crossing by powerboat

I will be crossing from the west coast of Mexico to the Marquesas in about a year. What is the best route for a powerboat to take advantage of light winds, favorable currents, avoiding lightning in the ITCZ, etc? World Cruising Routes gives some guidelines but from the perspective of a sail crossing. Is there a different strategy for powerboats? I can do anywhere from 150 to 200 miles a day depending on wind and current. Any suggestions?

Don't know if you're familiar with the Dashew's but they're passagemakers currently cruising aboard a custom built powerboat.

There's plenty of info there to digest, maybe not on specific routes but on outfitting and passagemaking.

Yes I am. Here is Steve Dashew's response to my query:

Generalized texts, like Jimmy Cornell's, are of small value as they are
based on averages and the weather is rarely average. The best thing to do is
learn basic weather analysis, and then do your own routing based on the
weather patterns which exist when you want to go.

This is very interesting and makes a lot of sense. But still I think you start with something like Cornell's text as a general guideline.

I have no desire to cross oceans. I'd be more inclined to hire someone like Dockwise to move my tiny lil' boat across the big ponds!
