New Ocean Warrior is a Beauty

Today Sea Shepherd has unveiled their latest creation to combat poaching and she's a beauty.

When I have details of her engines I'll post it.

Don't turn this into an anti Sea Shepherd thread. If you start posting anti sea shepherd posts I'll assume your trolling and ask the moderators to respond.

Re: New Ocean Warrior is a Beauty

Is it hogging? Or is the bow a deeper draft than mid ships? Or a camera artifact?

Cool looking boat, but to my eye it seems to be built in OSV camo.

I'm guessing it's just the result of a wide angle lens.

Looks like the first photo is a camera artifact, but the second photo does look to me as though the bow has a deeper draft.

I'm not familiar with the term OSV camo. (seemingly Google isn't either) Care to explain?

OSV = offshore supply vessel

camo = camouflage

it'll blend into an oilfield like a marine in the jungle

Looks like she has a generous aft heli pad. Should be very steady in the challenging seas she'll face.

Where's the cannon?

Great looking vessel. Fits its name. Is the prow-like bow for getting through ice?

If it's the same bow as Damon's OSV hulls, it's for "better sea riding/comfort". Very similar to the X-bow by Ulstien.

It very well could be ice classed, buy that is far from ice breaker class. Ice class just has stronger hull plating and other design improvements. I also, heard the topside paint is different (assuming to help shed ice better) but that was hearsay in the Gulf of Mexico oilfield when a company came out with one. Ice breakers usually have long bows to help ride over ice so the weight of the vessel breaks ice not impact.

It looks like a very capable boat, hopefully they man it with capable crew.
