The "axe"shape gives an extra metre of waterline length which is sharp narrow and therefore wave piercing. There is no bow wave as such until further aft. The waterline shape of the hulls is very narrow too so the boat is very easily driven up to 6Knots using less than 1 litre per mile and after that more or less linear increase in energy use e.g. up to 2 litres per nautical mile at 16 knots in cruising mode.
The sail is a 26.6 sq metre screecher and will work motor sailing to 60 degrees apparent wind saving up to 2 litres per hour cruising at 7.5kts ( i.e. 5l/hr )
The boat performs well both into and with following weather.
Im very pleased with my "big" little boat.Seen here at Abel Point , Airlie Beach and at Lizard Island
