Re: MASSIVE price difference!!!

It's very difficult. Some contractors bid high and only take the high profit opportunities. Some bid low, and plan on charging you more as they get into the job. If you go with the low bidder get that it is a firm fixed price and the details of the work in writing.
haha and good luck with that!

Well, we use a large shipyard that does their own work. They provide estimates and come within those on the work outlined. If anything else is required they get advance approval. They are use to working with businesses and businessmen who require bids, issue purchase orders and abide by them.

They aren't cheap, but no surprises and the work is done right the first time plus guaranteed. We're very happy with them.

Always nice when you find a good source for your work for sure.

B&B-you were curious about the engines in GG's new Hatt-i believe most of those of that vintage had GM 8-71s, as an '87, could also be 8-92s. 325hp should be a naturally aspirated, continuous duty rated 8-71.

BTW-congrats GG on getting 'er done! Betting that all the boys and Mom are excited!
