Knapps Narrows, Maryland

Has anyone been able to verify depth at Knapps Narrows this month ? We have aGB 46 with depth of 4.5 feet and don't want to get stuck this afternoon.
Thanks

Try calling your local Sea Tow office and they should know.

Probably too late to be useful, but...

You can get through. Entering from the Bay side, you'll see about 6' at the R4... and I mean RIGHT AT the R4. Hug it so you can almost touch it. And don't attempt it if another boat is coming out at the same time; wait your turn.

When we went through a few weeks ago, there was an additional temporary green float marker there... but the best depth is right at the red. Many of the local fishing fleet captains actually pass on the wrong side of the R4, but you won't have to do that (and they draw much less anyway.)

What ranger said. 6 feet, but a super narrow channel on the bay side. Hug the buoys and make your turns tight and crisp. Wander half a dozen feet to either side and you're in 2 feet of water.
