Key West Bay Reef 196

Since I bought my first monohull after racing catamarans for 15 years, I have been able to do a little fishing while anchored and am starting to enjoy it more than sailing my slow boat.

Is anyone familiar with the Key West brand especially the 196 Bay Reef:

A friend of mine had one on the Chesapeake Bay. Nice little boat and it handled well. I actually considered buying one myself, but ended up going with a larger Grady White.

I'll be using it down around the CBBT, the barrier Islands of the Eastern Shore, and this whole area. It looks closer to a bass boat than a bay boat to me but I'm hearing they ride really well.

I haven't had a power boat since I was a kid on the Eastern Shore and Morehead City area in the 80's.

They do ride pretty well, but based on what little time I've spent on my friend's Key West, I think you'd be limited to fairly good weather if you wanted to fish the CBBT pilings.
