I have a cartoon from the forties that shows an old salt kneeling beside his bunk praying : "Oh Lord forgive me, I went out on a powerboat and enjoyed it!"

They do, indeed, have their place. In commercial settings where people really need to get from A to B in a hurry - like diving, or fishing, or ferries... Oh and shipping... Can't think of much else though...

Your profile probably needs undating

I have to say that large mobo's have offered me the greatest kindness on a couple of occasions and I have been most grateful. Easter weekend two huge (42ft) mobo's appeared on the other side of the jetty to us mid afternoon. Things weren't looking good. Then in an American accent as we got chatting, they offered us some fresh Mackerel they had just caught an our ago. The large fly bridge mobo's also created a shadow and cool spot for Angus the dog to sit in the shade on the jetty, so they do have there uses after all

They have there place and if it enables folk to still go out boating rather than heading for the golf course then I am all for then.

Pete
