How to figure trip timing

Is there an app that allows one to punch in Depature and Destinations on water to show miles and time arrival.

New to navigating Great Lakes. Just purchased a Carver 380 and am trying to figure out weather or not to transport from Lake St. Clair to South Haven by water or have it shipped by Semi. Any help or direction for this trip would be helpful.

There are numerous chartplotter programs that you can build a route in, then total your mileage and enter a plan speed.

Get the Pub "distances between ports". Shows both costal and offshore routes.

If you purchase the Ports guide for the lake your sailing in, the have distance tables between most ports. Handy guides.

In the States, see also the U.S. Coast Pilot publications, which include distances between ports. Free softcopy, search NOAA (nauticalcharts.noaa.gov).
