Help with Choosing Size of Boat, Please

Hi out there
I've been around boats most of my life but mostly lakes. I'm looking to get out on the sound to do some day trips around the islands and up to bc. want a faster boat more than a cruiser. thinking around a 20-24 foot any suggestion out there?

Max Speed in mind?

hull style will mean a lot, if power a small deep V will handle better in rough water. So do not just decide by boat size.

Looking for a boat I can do some nights on and all so pull a skier or wake boarding for fun also like to beable to tow this boat around WA state.
