Help on sun deck weight please

Hello I just bought a Nova Heritage it has a sun deck over the aft deck and there is a dingy cradle there would anyone know what the safe weight limit is on those Fiberglas sun decks. I just bought a zodiac projet it weighs about 750 lbs. I'm not sure if I should put it up there or move the cradle to the front deck and have it there. Would appreciate any advice

An additional 750 pounds mounted that high will not be fun when you are in a high wind condition or crossing swells or waves. Your additional weight will be at least 10 feet above your water line. Figure out the amount of weight at that height and it can get scary. I doubt the fiberglass cover would support the boats weight and 1 or 2 people without deforming. As far as your forward deck mount make sure to spread the load of the mounting cradle over as large an area as you can.

The first concerns are; will the present davit lift that much weight, how will 750 lbs effect the boats center of gravity, and the trim of the boat. Weather the roof can support it is not the first primary concern. If you do attempt to raise low make sure its dead calm as you do not want the dink to sway which can cause damage. Might want to tow and buy a lighter/smaller dink for the roof.
