Re: ft lauderdale to the Exumas

I left Marathon mid afternoon to south riding rocks and anchored near Russell Beacon. From there I checked in at Morgans Bluff. It was an easy crossing to West Bay.
I avoided Chub Cay. When there last, anchored, rollers made for a miserable night trying to sleep. Be sure to lay as much chain as possible when anchoring.
Sailing down the Tongue was a great sail. With a six foot draft, crossing into Exumas Sound was restricted. Word of caution, I would check tide conditions before venturing out, rips are fierce. I also used Galliot Cut after anchoring between Big and Little Galliot Cays. I fueled up at Emerald Bay Marina.
