Our local dead heads are just across the bay. In Victoria. I can see the moss growing on them from the cabin top. They don't move too fast. But they are still hard to avoid. (pst, etc.) LOL

Yikes! I'm always looking for salvage opportunities, but I don't think this is one. Though, the drain plug fitting might be reusable.

Installed the new size B4 duoprops. They made a big difference in performance out of the hole. At cruise we loose 2kts upstream and 3 downstream. It'll get up on plane w/o the trim tabs which was virtually impossible before although with a little bit of tab it jumps right up and goes. No bogging down like before. The drive seams happier. We used to get, what I thought was, rumbling from the u-joints which might have been caused by the excessive pitch. There's no rumbling now. It seems a little less responsive at slow speeds, found myself giving it throttle to get it to turn.

I guess inadvertantly I've stumbled on the correct props. We started with B6's when we got the boat and it was a dog. Went down to B5's and it got better. Expensive way to fine tune your prop setup though!

Yes it certainly sounds like you used to be over propped.
