Re: Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Hiya Jan! Give GG the benefit of doubt! Take her seriously at her word! She needs practical advice that she could use for her family. We all should be trying to help her and wish her the best of luck in her search. Even if she would pick my recommendation, I would not accept her reward. It is the noble thing to do. Your understanding is appreciated.

This is not the boat for me, but absolutely, if you post a Craigslist that I buy, I would absolutely honor that. I wouldn't have seen it otherwise.

Trawler For Sale
I've actually seen this, it would make a nice weekender, but not comfortable enough for full time liveaboard with 5 kids. Thanks for posting it. Please let me know if you spot anything else.

Jan, sorry you feel this way. I wasn't aware that others have tried this.

All I can say, is that I am a person of my word and I believe strongly in karma. I prefer to keep the good stuff heading my way

Someone early today sent me a boat from a website. I didn't like the boat they sent, but happened to see another on the same site that I did like. I set up a showing and thanked the person. I let them know that they were still the procuring cause, even though that particular boat was not theirs. If I buy it, they will get the fee.

I'll be so happy if someone finds my boat that I'll happily make good on my word... and... probably take the person to dinner as well

Re: Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

Our friend almost put an offer in for this one. We have been aboard, classic, needs electrical upgrades for sure. I loved her lines.
76.0 ft 1973 Fairmile 76 Motor Yacht

She has been for sale a good long while, owners might be flexible. I thought, at the time we were looking at her, she was a bit overpriced. But she has much potential and even more character! Sweet boat.

No fee payout required, I believe in karma too

Sorry about that. I can see how you could have misunderstood the title. I didn't realize that it could be viewed that way when I posted.

Your right, that site is very commercial, but I'm going to keep my eye on it. Thanks for pointing it out. I'll let you know if I get lucky

I had been debating on this boat for months. It's a gorgeous boat, but I hate that it has no lower port holes. I can't believe your friend almost bought it. It's also a bit larger than I wanted. But anyhow, it sold. But, that is the style!!! Thanks for pointing it out.

That's a very cynical opinion, and I'm disappointed that you have such a lack of trust in an established and respected member... Of course, you could always make an effort to find the right boat, and put her word to the test...

Re: Find My Boat - $5,000 REWARD!!!

If I could find you a boat that you could captain in short order, and has a fuel burn and upkeep that won't break the bank, that is all the reward I need, but the idea of dinner would be fine.

Oops, sorry, didn't know it sold. She was a sweet boat.
Good luck, I'll keep an eye out for ya.

Not to worry, the Annapolis show usually doesn't have much in the way of boats that fit your size criteria.

Trawler Fest would likely be a closer fit to your market. OTOH, I think the Baltimore version is coming up in late September, so maybe also difficult to do, given your calendar?

"Cost per cubic foot of space/storage" as a criteria to purchase ?

Huh?

If I just take pictures of some else's boat that isn't for sale can I get the 5K?

This behemoth has been sitting on the hard for a few years in Harbour West (Hamilton, ON) now: Precious Lady - ShipSpotting.com - Ship Photos and Ship Tracker

Doesn't have any blatantly obvious problems on the outside, but I've never been inside of it. Looks like it's owned by a charter company. I think the contact info is listed if you're inclined to talk to them.
