I own and captain my 92 Ft 1989 Ortani Navi motor yacht, which is currrently undergoing refitting in LaPaz Mexico. My current plan is to head south in late September/early October, go through the Canal by December /January, be in the Caribbean until May/June, and Start the Great Circle to return down the Mississippi by June 2019.
My dream is a trip through the Northwest passage, but my ship isn’t suitable. Is there anyone with a suitable expedition yacht that wants to exchange it for a few weeks in exchange for the use of my yacht for a few weeks, or is there even someone already planning a trip who needs another participant? I have an academic background in oceanography, significant high seas and research experience, and enough experience.to know that this is not a trip to be planned lightly or without the right vessel. I see many suitable expedition yachts just sitting in popular marinas used only as a venue for a cocktail party —What a waste!
