East Coast USA morning/evening

Ok...odd question but I just drove from Jacksonville Florida to Crystal River Florida on the west coast this morning. It was a nice drive as the sun was not in my eyes.

So now I will be moving to the east coast in 3 months. I plan of fishing in the Atlantic. Going out in the morning and coming back in the evening. How much trouble will the sun cause? Will I hate this routine as usually heading east in the AM and west in the PM?

Re: East Coast USA morning/evening

I must admit, after doing internet boating forums for the past 15 years, this is among my Top Ten in questions! Congratulations.

There are a few things that could help you out. Given this question itself, I offer these in a friendly spirit.

The sun comes up at a different time and place every day.

Unlike highways, which require you to follow the road, you can maneuver your boat so the sun is not directly in your eyes - just turn port, then starboard.

Sometimes there is fog or clouds.

Good luck.

Stu - interesting you say the sun rises and sets at a different place everyday. (of the year) Only someone that tracks this info knows or says this kind of stuff.

Anyway my inland lake boating it was difficult to escape the glare of the sun just wondered about on the ocean.

Thanks
