Re: Defever leaning to port...trim tab issue?

If you have trim tabs wouldn't there be control switches on the console?

Re: Defever leaning to port...trim tab issue?

Trim tabs, fixed or otherwise, take a lot of sheer loading and the rams are often attached to the transom with small screws which fail. First guess for me is a failed trim tab mount.

Warped boat athwart ships? That's a hilarious concept. They all come out of the same mold, so it couldn't be from the factory. Poor blocking causes hogging, not warping. Hogging couldn't cause the boat to trim poorly. I've worked on thousands of boats and never seen or even heard of a case like that. Pure balderdash. Again.

I'm going with actuator on hydraulic pump, or he needs to unravel that mooring bridle he fouled on his port prop

Love the bendy boat thing
maybe planning at 25 knots but not at 10, would a hull asymmetry show it's self

It is quite ridiculous what most installs consider adequate.... I've seen this many times too....

Re: Defever leaning to port...trim tab issue?

Believe it or not, this has all been quite helpful. Yes, as many of you have pointed out we have a lot to learn... It's endless! Nonetheless, here's an update-- no trim tab controls, period. If they are there, they are fixed. There is a breaker with some voltage but it does nothing (maybe just standard equip on the breaker panel for an option we don't have). I also have not seen tabs, even when running a hook where they should be.. but we have a diver scheduled to come investigate further. I'll update you all when I learn more.

Re: Defever leaning to port...trim tab issue?

I'm not familiar with your boat, but many boats trim tabs are flush with the hull when retracted and even when extended do not extend beyond the transom. I still think you have a trim tab problem, not much else passes the common sense test

If she is fitted with stabilisers , they could be out, never been on a craft with them but she is around the size craft they start to be fitted
