Re: converting to fresh water cooling Mercruiser 7.4

I'm looking for suggestion and maybe a clear schematic of a fresh water cooling system for a 1998 Mercruiser 7.4 in a 1998 Bayliner Ciera 2859 both full system and half system. I have the general lay of how it goes but was a little unsure about the outdrive pump and the aux. pump and how they flow any info would be helpful

The main benefit in going to a full system is that the exhaust manifolds will no longer be subject to corrosion and won't have to be replaced on a periodic basis, however even with a full system the risers will still be maintenance items. The downside of this is that the FW system will be absorbing much more heat and will require a larger heat exchanger to get rid of that heat.

Conversely, a 1/2 system can get by with a smaller heat exchanger but the manifolds will then be subject to corrosion.
