Carquinez Coot's Arrival

Hummingway told me "It looks to me like the Coot is in the water but I don't see a thread full of photos ... Are you going to post some shots so we can see what she looks like?"

That photo was taken in China. But now the Carquinez Coot has come home.

Where's my Coot (pier 55, Oakland, CA, May 29)?:



Way up top, hidden among containers:



Here we are. Safe at home in K dock, at the Vallejo Municipal Marina:

Nice wood. Are the sails to reduce roll or can you get some lift from them as well?

Both. Had a maybe 10-knot beam wind, and after sails were hoisted the minor roll was eliminated and a half-knot or so was added (6.7 knots under power alone, 7.3 knots after raising sails). I'm just beginning to learn.
