Just purchase a 1988 harbor master coastal 520. It has the royal blue screen to cover the lower helm windshield but it is faded in places. This cover is a mesh material that is see through.

My question is can it be painted or dyed to restore a constant nice looking color?

Does the mesh screen remain in place whilst navigating? If so, I imagine that painting it would somewhat close the holes and restrict visibility!
