Boarding Steps

Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced set of kid-friendly boarding steps?

Your right about that and my teens are fine with the ladder that is on the boat now, but my 4 year old has trouble turning around and stepping down. Plus, the gap between the dock and the boat doesn't help. I was looking for stairs that attach to the side. I found a few nice ones, but wanted to see if I could get away with less than 2-3 grand.

Re: Boarding Steps

I don't have your answer, but I do have a caution. I've seen some of the plastic rungs on cheap boarding ladders break after a season or two of UV damage resulting in some very sharp edges that the climbers fall against on their way down.

Re: Boarding Steps

Ok understand.... Is it possible to modify your existing ladder with 2 padded hull braces so that it attaches at a more comfortable angle and closes the space between hull and dock?

Depending on your free board a single plank suspended halfway usually works very well

Re: Boarding Steps

Garhauer Marine has the cheapest stainless products on the market. Everything they make is very well constructed and they can customize for you as well.

Here is their two step model.... Garhauer Marine Hardware -8332769

Re: Boarding Steps

I think GG's talking about stairs from boat to dock, not a boarding ladder for getting back onboard from a swim. The nicer models are quite expensive.

Yup. I'm looking for something like this. They are very expensive. Too bad there isn't a cheaper alternative.

These are really nice. They don't give the pricing, but I can only imagine
