Best Weather Window ?

Hi all,
wondering what the best time of year would be to cruise from California to Hawaii. If anyone has done it, or has has some suggestions for almanacs i would like to hear more about it.

April/May, or October/November. Tropical storms run June through October, and October November you can get some decent gale conditions within ~300 miles of California. The winter is cold. many folks are leaving mexico to sail to so pacific and hawaii NOW, with the pacific puddle jump rally. watch weather and have a great sail.

Thanks guys, looks like a good starting point. I had heard the best sailing window was around the end of may-start of June, but would that also be the case for powering?
