Best boat show

Looking for advice on the best boat show. We're specifically seeking a decent selection of power catamarans. Leopards are the current favorite but still open and wanting to see others. Willing to attend any show in the US or Carribean. Thanks guys.

Re: Best boat show

You missed the huge one in March in Puerto Rico. The entire lagoon has slips and boats. They probably couldn't do that to a lagoon here in the u.s. because of environmental laws. http://www.puertodelrey.com

The Miami Strictly Sail (Feb) is always a huge Cat Show and Annapolis (Oct) is always good. Those would be my two shows for Cat hunting.

Does the Strictly Sail have power cats as well?

No, not really.
Power Cats are more of a Power boat Show think vs Sailboat show at least from what I've seen walking the docks in Miami and Annapolis.

Ok. It's not that I wouldn't like to see sail boats. It's just that there is really about 0% chance that I'll buy one. I realize that as far as cats are concerned, most shows are gonna have a lot of sailing cats, and few power cats. I just want to be sure that when I make the trip to one it'll at least have a handful of the popular power cats mixed in there.

The brochure for Annapolis claims the worlds larges power cat section. Maybe that's the one I'm looking for.

Re: Best boat show

I see the problem and I would ****-can the Sailboat focused shows and look for the Power boat shows. The truth is I think that in the type of boat you are looking for, you time would be better spent in researching online and then traveling yourself to the boat rather than trying to see all the power cats in one spot.

There are TWO different Annapolis Boat Shows are on diffent weeks and man do they draw a different group of people!

Re: Best boat show

I like boat shows with power boats AND sailing boats. Make it more interesting.

I know the NYC boat show isn't in the realm of the best, but I enjoyed it when I lived there.

I like the suggestion. Just trying to figure out a good way to see a few different boats more or less at the same time. Would like to see the Leopard, FP, and then a few others if possible. Really, I can see a great selection of power monohulls anywhere. The power cats are a bit tougher.
