Any power boats that look similiar to a PT boat?
Hello, I'm from the sailing side of things and joined the forums not to long ago, I'm actually shopping around for liveaboard sailboats right now, but Im a history buff, and I was curious. Are there any boats designed for private use that look very similar to a PT boat from WWII, as I know most of them were destroyed its impossible to find one.

Any power boats that look similiar to a PT boat?
There is a tourist boat in both Panama City and Clearwater that to my eye, looks very close to a PT's hull. Big boats, as PT's were not small boats.
They are both painted the same and have the same name " Sea Screamer"

"Any private boats that look like a PT boat?"
I have always thought the Chris Craft motor yachts have a strong resemblance.
One can find Chris Craft motor yachts that would be nice for liveaboard in a marina. Most are gas guzzlers, with engines that are expensive to maintain or use, so their prices will likely seem low if you look at those built in the 1980s or so.

Someone in the SF bay area has a working PT boat. I see it almost every year heading up to the Delta for the fireworks. Big Boat.

I have read about it, and I think it is the last one that is seaworthy

As far as hull shape goes, I think Huckins are similar.
They built PT boats for the Navy.

Thanks for the link!
My dad "owned" a PT boat for a brief time in Japan after WWII. He was in the Air Force (Army Air Corps then) and as squadrons were sent home, he ended up as one of the last Air-Sea Rescue officers, and had command of a PT boat. He liked it!
Great to see the tour.

Go buy a Huckins. The Fairform Flyer hull looks like the same boat from the toe rail down. After all, Huckins made PT boats.

Re: Any power boats that look similiar to a PT boat?
The hull on my last powerboat, a 48' Grandy Marlineer, somewhat resembled the PT, except for having beautiful tumblehome aft.

There are two or three PT boat hulls laying on land next to the Hudson River Maritime Museum near Kingston, NY. I understand they are owned by a elderly person, they are in rough shape.
