Welcome to CF, nbuckner! I have learned a lot of valuble information here. I found myself in a similar situation last Spring, although we didn't have water coming over the sides. But we have worked a way up over the summer and now I only go out on big wind days when I have at least one of my trusted and tested crew with me too. I gotta say, now that I've done the 20 knot winds and know how the boat will handle, the 5 knot days aren't near as exciting. But the wife prefers light winds.... for now :-)
