Anyways, there is something that looks like calm, hard to say - your avatar is pretty small.

If you've done nothing wrong then you shouldn't mind talking to me. (from a deputy Attorney General in Honolulu) Worst advice I've ever gotten and was dumb enough to listen to.

I'm sure my wife would have loved a 3 hour baby. Ours took 37 1/2 hours. I was exhausted just watching.

Re: What's the Worst Piece of Advice You've Ever Received ?

Maybe I ask for directions too much, but in Maine I received the same advice, "Son, you can't get there from here"
I am still pondering that advice. How did I get where I was if I can't get anywhere from there......

Re: What's the Worst Piece of Advice You've Ever Received ?

A home is the most important investment you can ever make, rents will only ever go up so if you buy it's like locking down the rent price forever, Coastal California property prices can't really go down because there isn't any more coastline being made, you can refinance in a couple of years and your interest rate will go down and you can add-on and only have to pay what you're paying now but you'll be living in a mansion with a view.
Jerks, no house can ever beat the view from my floating "investment" and if I get tired of that view I can exchange it for any view I want.

Re: What's the Worst Piece of Advice You've Ever Received ?

When I was ocean sailing teacher on a 46' ketch in the Canary Islands. Worst advice I got was to stay put in the marina of Los Gigantes. I ignored it. The in rolling swell hit the outer sea wall with a thunder and sprayed over the wall onto all the boats inside. With a few other sailors I stood on top the seawall watching the quiet rollers coming onto the coast. Deep and steep menacing quiet the ocean waves rolled up towards the wall and slammed into it. The next 20 minutes or so I watched the situation while getting soaked from the spray. The wind force was 4 the weather good. Just these rollers from a distant storm. I counted 45 seconds between waves, sometimes 50 seconds. So I made ship shape, started the engine, waited in the 2x 90 degrees Z like exit until one wave had slammed into the wall and then went full power out to sea. Under loud applause from the sailors on the wall I was out in less than 30 seconds and safe in deep water. The others waited 4 days for the sea to calm down.
