Thought I would check the thread out.

Sorry that my credibility is question.

I was away and going away again tomorrow.

I was on a Saga 409 as I will be tomorrow. Lee clothes and fixed floorboards are standard.

First boat with a front loading fridge that I liked. Huge top loading freezer.

I used to use a Nauticat 37: fixed floors and lee clothes.

I delivered a C&C 44 from Maui last summer; fixed floorboards and lee clothes.

I am still waiting for our delivery skipper poster to reply it seems he was full of bad press regarding Hunters but is unable to suggest some good boats. Very disappointing as he says he has sailed many different yachts. Maybe they are all duds?

I just took bareboat (asa 104 ) on a 15 year old Hunter 37.5. It seemed to perform pretty well in a 20+ MPH wind.

Anyone want to tell me why a Nauticat (or any Cruising Cat, for that matter) needs fixed floors?

If you're looking up at the floor in one of those, you have worse problems than some wood flying around.

Because a Nauticat is NOT a Catamaran. They are best known for producing monohull motor-sailors.

I am reluctant to name specific boats. I would rather talk to someone and find out what they like / desire in the features for the intended use of the boat.

I have been on a Saga 409 for much of the past month and a half. I took her around Vancouver Island and then out to Barkley Sound. She had many of the features I like. She was much less tender than the Nauticat I have used in the past.

I have sailed a couple of Bill Crealock's designs (Dana 24 and Crealock 34); good quality boats. One day on Swan 38 was lovely.

Hang on you were happy to bag Hunters but reluctant to name boats in the positive, interesting.

I think you are confusing Nauticat with Nautitech which are catamarans. Nauticat is a mono. Confusing I know.
