Sneaky Tactics

Okay, this thread isn't about something "bad" that happened at sea, but it is a confessional of sorts.

Tonight was the first of several Salsa Dancing Classes. My wife has been after me to go with her for years, so why the sudden change of heart? Well, to be honest it's one small salsa step for man, and one giant reason to travel to Latin America on our sailboat when we take the plunge.

And it was actually really fun........................but don't tell anyone

No problem...men aren't supposed to enjoy dancing.

Women dance because they like it. Men dance because they like women.

My dancing, like my singing, improves in direct correlation to my Rum level...

(Have fun. We won't tell ...)

So here is your Loosely boating related part. In an interview I did with the Pardeys, the talked about learning to Tango in South America. They were very passionate about this part of their cruising experience.

I took dancing classes before with an old girlfriend; it was a lot of fun. It's a great way to spend a nice evening together.

Carnival in RIO and the dancing is one of the top 50 experiences to be completed/enjoyed before I die!

A swing dance champion was walking to her dance studio and she saw a parrot in a cage in front of the pet store.
The parrot said to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."
Well, the dancer was furious! She stormed past the store to her studio.
On the way home she saw the same parrot who once again said to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."
Well, she was incredibly ticked now!
The next day she saw the parrot and it said to her, yet again, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."
The champion was so ticked that she went into the store and said that she would sue them and kill that damned bird...
The store manager said, "I am so sorry, ma'am," and promised the parrot wouldn't say it again.
The next day, the proud champion walked past the store after work and the parrot said to her,
"Hey lady..."
She paused and said, "Yes?"
The parrot said,
"You know."The parrot said to her, "Hey lady, you are really ugly."

Good on you Greenman.

Salsa is fun! More of you should try it. You drink less, (you can't dance salsa as a beginner intoxicated, water rather than rum is the drink of dancers -you may think liquid courage helps; it doesn't). If you learn to dance salsa, you will meet more women; as an aside, if you need any more encouragement after the bonus of meeting more women, dancing salsa improves your sense of balance, agility and fitness on land and onboard.

I am still trying to convince my partner to learn, it is a work in progress like the Pearson 424. As our set sail date isn't until 2011, I have a bit of time to get him to start practicing.

Wish me luck.

Funny, I said the very same thing to my wife as we were driving home............."If I only knew about these places when I was single....." LOL There are several very good looking women there who hve no partners. I dance with all of them because a man dances a certain way and the woman opposite.

LOL great fun.

My wife calls it 'dirty dancing'

It's what I do right after I injure myself while fixing something. You know, that little hopping circle dance while swearing and flicking little blood droplets all about the boat...
