Pictures of Crashed Catana in St. Martin
The story goes they were both on auto pilot one going to St.Barths one coming from St. Barths... both had radar on both were not on watch... Thats what I heard no confirmation received... anyways two large, nice catamarans crashed head on into each other on a clear and sunny day. Heres the pics of the Catana. Did not see the other boat.

Don't know about anybody else. But, I get nervous after just 30 seconds being down below to use the head or make a sandwich.

At least the main damage was above the waterline! Could've been worse if that crack was 6 inches lower......

The cross beam was hanging on by little bits of fiberglass ... the forestay was loooooose and I was really surprised the mast had stayed up... the watertight bulkhead.. you can just see it in some of the pics was intact.

As I understood.. again form about 5 different people, 5 different stories.. but 1 was a charter cat 1 was private. I really would not be 100% sure of anything other than the pictures look pretty grim!

If they had been Monos they would have missed each over - just. But a miss by a metre is as good as a mile

Hmmm. If they were monos they probably wouldn't have been aware of the near miss. Ignorance IS bliss!
