You know the knife Dockhead tied to the boathook? Well I have used similar plastic ties!

I'm still trying to figure out how do you go from painting houses, to a Hunter, then an Oyster?
Is he going to end up with one of those Yachts with a helicopter for a dinghy next?

You never finished the story of the rope in the prop- did you have to haul it out and how DO they anchor those lobster traps?

A sailor's yarn to dine out on,
thanks for sharing, particularly the lessons learned and perhaps we all learned from your forgiving attitude towards a fellow sailor. Here's to peaceful cruising!

I enjoyed this story.

Well written, good humor, and illustrative of how a Friendly gesture on the water can cool hot heads, lead to mutual understanding, and possibly good times shared...and a good sea story.

Good lessons too. Thanks for sharing it all.

Dockhead, great story. You should send this story to Yachting Monthly for their last page "Confessions". You might even win a bottle of rum, or are you sticking to tea after that event?
I know Ken and his previous Oyster (53ft). Met him, his wife & daughter in Croatia a couple of years ago and had a good time together. He now "upgraded" (the boat. Not his wife who is charming!).
