pirate Oddball Loner Behavior

I just saw, just now, a liveaboard cruiser throwing food in the air for a flock of seagulls. WT Flock? Is there a more bone-headed way to get some company/attention/interaction? Better not try that with cormorants.

Blue Crab, I am sure you have been on the Okracoke ferry when there is a load of tourist and the cars are packed tight..I have ,and once I tossed a few potato chips into the wind and watched them fly over to the larboard side ,where upon, there were lots of tourist,it didnt take long before I was being cussed out in several different accents..I believe there was the Jersy shore accent ,the midwest accent, that pecuilar mid Canadian accent and that unforgettable Long Island accent, very colorful and flagrent langauge..Seagulls can do that to people...

Yep.

I told the tale poorly. He wasn't tossing left overs. He was feeding the gulls. It went on at least 5 min. I was gobsmacked!

Hey Blue Crab,

Why is it that you don't head on south this time of year? (actually maybe leaving here in mid November) Are you still working?

The folks with the Lunatic Voyage blog are sending back some beautiful pictures of pigs swimming on the lower Bahama Island Chain which also shows the nice weather.

Perhaps he does not like his neighbours. It's a cool revenge if they have been hassling him, cover their boats in gull poop.

There's no easy answer. I was close but decided while I still have several projects it's just easier to do em while I still have wheels and discounts. I don't have a schedule of any kind. I'm regretting that decision today, of course, when it was 11 degrees.

Re: Oddball Loner Behavior

Well, if you are still up here for a few years more maybe we can get a fleet together and head on down.

They were near here (maybe at Pig Beach a bit north) and it looks like an awesome destination:

I was thinking the same thing and now have a new idea about what to do with the boat next to me in the mooring field that doesn't secure them halyards

They have had an adventure that's for sure.

I have been a bit worried about them. They finally got caught in a storm and lived through it. Now they are better prepared for next time.

If you go back in the blog a bit you can read about it. There's also a thing on Boat Punks which our boy Jonah may have fit into perfectly.

These folks came on CF a year or so back looking for advice ............them being newbies and whatnot. It's in the Sailing with Children Forum, page 2 I believe.

Just make sure that you keep throwing the food on his deck. After a while they will just sit there waiting. Patiently, crapping away.

Before anyone accuses me of being vindictive, bad natured etc I admit that I am all that, but in this case merely having a joke.
